Here are the details of the next tournament from the flier I took:
I have the pre-registration form and will copy it for anyone who wants to participate. Here are the weight and skill grappling divisions:
I also believe there are both gi and no-gi divisions; however, the form didn't make that clear. With the karate divisions information, there is a bin labeled "Self- Defence" segerated by age and rank:
The ranks (*) includes "Judo/Jiu Jitsu/Akido/Hapkido/Hwa Rang Do ect." according to the form. What does that mean? It sounds like either gi-grappling or MMA to me; although, I doubt the university would allow MMA fighing.
It also does not indicate the rules of the tournament. I'm also going to ask Sensai Achille for more information about both the rules, gi/no-gi situation, and whether I can participate in both the novice and intermediate divisions (unless I place in one of them, of course) like I did at NAGA.
On Tuesday I'll goto the East-West Martial Arts Club instead of Grappling at Penn Hills so that I can get more information.
