I thought The Ultimate Fighter Finale was a pretty awesome event all around. I only watched the first two fights because I had to be somewhere at 11, but I was very impressed with what I saw.
I was disappointed to see Kenny lose so fast to Diego. Kenny pretty much ran from Diego at the beginning before getting taken down. He had a few nice sweep attempts, but he only ended up back in guard. Diego dominated him with his size.
Forrest and Stephan was one of the best fights I have ever seen. It had little ground work and was not even that technical of a striking match, but the sheer heart of the two fighters was very impressive. I had the fight dead even and was very glad that although Forrest won the decision, Dana gave them both UFC contracts.
I didn't get to watch Shamrock and Franklin so I'm not sure how that went. Overall though, I think this event was probably the best publicity for mixed martial arts in the history of the sport. Hopefully it will get more people excited about the martial arts (and grappling), and we will have more new people interested in our club.

The Shamrock fight was pretty disappointing. One failed Omoplata, one failed heelhook, and one old man falling down after getting his high kick blocked. It's on again tonight at 11 if you want to catch it.

I ended up watching the Shamrock/Franklin fight on Monday night.
Franklin's omoplata was pretty sad and wasn't even close. It appeared to me as if Shamrock had the heelhook sunk tight. I was amazed that Franklin was able to roll out of it. After the fight, it was reported that Franklin said the heelhook popped his ankle. It looked like a solid submission attempt to me.
It was pretty pathetic to see Shamrock fall over after attempting a high kick. Franklin did block it, but it looked like Shamrock would have fallen down anyways even if he didn't. You'd think after all of these years in MMA he'd know how high he can safely kick.
I agree that the Shamrock fight was disappointing. The man simply needs to retire.
