We started out warming up by doing double leg shots in the air. Double legs set up by grabbing a two on one, yanking him forward, and shooting. Double legs as a response to punching. Wait until he throws the cross because he will be moving forward. Rear naked choke from the back. Keep your hooks high and knees out. Make both hands into fists (racoon trap). Cover the fist behind his head with your chin so he can't pull it off. Squeeze your elbows together and thrust your chest forward. Important point: Don't squeeze at 100% strength. Start at 60% and slowly increase pressure. Analogy of either being 10 feet under in the pool for 5 seconds, or 1 inch under the surface for 1 minute. Escaping side control: see 9/17 notes. We did the drill of getting posture immediately when the opponent passes your guard. Don't let him sink a good pin. Escaping mount. We did the foot drag, which was a variation of the elbow knee escape. Pics of it are here: jenbjj.com/NewTechnique/Tech14a.htmlWe did the drill of immediately doing the escape when he mounts you from side control. Don't let him sink a good mount.
